Dege Mc, born Richard Blessing Richard in 2003, is a Tanzanian recording artist, songwriter, guitarist, and actor from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is one of the emerging voices representing the new generation of artists shaping the future of Tanzanian urban music, particularly the fast-rising Singeli genre.
Raised in Dar es Salaam, Dege Mc discovered his passion for music at an early age. His musical journey began during childhood, inspired by street culture, local rhythms, and the vibrant music environment surrounding him. He pursued his education at Mwangaza Primary School, where his artistic interests began to take form, and later attended Charambe Secondary School in Temeke District, Dar es Salaam.
Throughout his school life, Dege Mc remained deeply connected to music, spending time writing songs, practicing instruments, and refining his performance skills. His dedication helped him grow into a versatile artist with abilities beyond singing — including songwriting, guitar performance, and acting.
Musically, Dege Mc blends Singeli, Bongo Flava, and Afro Pop, producing energetic, dance-driven tracks filled with strong vibes and street authenticity. His sound reflects the heartbeat of Dar es Salaam’s youth culture, combining speed, rhythm, and storytelling.
Dege Mc is officially signed under AMM Music, a record label managed by talented producer Adasco M2 M’bad. AMM Music operates under the umbrella of Chamazi Music, one of the growing music labels dedicated to nurturing raw talent and delivering high-quality Tanzanian music to global audiences.
In 2025, Dege Mc released “Ololo (Remix)”, featuring Jeusi Mc and Buda Zoni, marking a significant milestone in his career. The project demonstrated his artistic growth, collaborative strength, and commitment to pushing Singeli music to wider audiences.
